ENOTECA DEL MONFERRATO.A fine anchitectural structure houses the whole range of wines grown in the Monferrato by a large number of first-rate wineries, with particular importance being given to Grignolino and Barbera. Meetings and conferences on wine-making are also held here, and thene is an excellent restaurant In the summer Vlgnale becomes the capital of classical dance, with the participation of the best known étoiles. This centre is devoted to wines produced in the Casale Monferrato area. It has been situated since its establishment in 1979 in Palazzo Callori, a 17th-century stately home now the property of the Region, in the centre of Vignale Monferrato. Its splendid tufa cellars contain the best Grignolino, Barbera and Malvasia di Casorzo d'Asti - wines that are here represented by a wide range of producers. The basements of the Palazzo remain one of its great attractions as evidence of a farming tradition devoted to grape and wlne-growing for centuries. The ground on which the vines grow around here is of tufa and the wines made from them find their natural home in tufa, too. A fine restaurant also forms part of the palazzo's facilities. Located beside the centre, it specialises in the simple traditional cuisine of the Monferrato area. In summer, the centre's rooms are used to hold a prestigious function known as "Vignale Danza". The halls of the floor above are employed for exhibitions, cultural activities, meetings and seminars.
